Creator's Birthday Updates - First event for Red Panda Diaries! (Before the story existed LOL)

Today is the beginning of the first RPD Event, Creator's Birthday, lasting from December 30th to January 12. Funnily enough, today is also Audrey Utane's birthday, so it's like a double celebration!

As I said on X, I'll be posting information on my totally-not-inspired-by-Project-SEKAI musical units here for the event. The musical units are called Star⭐Wonder and Uta no Secrets. There was originally going to be a musical duo as well called Red Light starring two certain iseko red pandas, but I decided against it.

Star⭐Wonder - An idol group consisting of three girls with big dreams and one who had given up hers.

Audrey Utane

Ruby Kiseki

Hoshino Tokimori

Rosetta Yumea

So, this group is kind of a reverse MMJ. Audrey, Ruby, and Hoshino are the ones with those big dreams and Rosetta is the one who gave up on hers. More about this in later episodes or RPD. Each girl has a stage name, and they each have their own reasons for choosing these names.

Audrey go! - Audrey's stage name. It's a reference to my channel. I don't know why she would have chosen this otherwise.

Asobi Akane - Ruby's stage name. The Asobi part comes from her fun-loving nature and the Akane part comes from her red theme. Red is the color of a ruby, after all.

Yume Hoshi - Hoshino's stage name. Hoshino wants to encourage people to pursue the things that they are passionate about, kind of like Kiritani Haruka or Hanasato Minori.

RosettaBun - Rosetta's stage name. This name comes from an old nickname she had as a child. She thinks it's cute.

Also, Audrey's ears, again, are fake. They're just hairclips. The tail is real, though.

Uta no Secrets - A band consisting of four girls keeping big secrets from everyone other than each other.

Nah, just kidding. If anything, these girls are more of a mix of Wonderlands x Showtime and Nightcord at 25:00. You can see their preferred styles in their costumes, too! Though, I don't really remember any of them except for Noelle's, which is supposed to be based on cuteness.

I originally had very different ideas for these covers: 

Audrey was originally going to have an Ed Sheeran cover, but I thought Idol fit better. Plus, I've been meaning to redo that cover for a while. 

I was really indecisive about Hoshino between Rainbow in the Dark and Renai Circulation by Satoru Kousaki, but I eventually chose Rainbow in the Dark because it fits very well with Hoshino. It's sweet and cute, just like her!

I originally wanted Moria to sing Shukkusei! Loli-Kami Requiem✩ by Shigure Ui and Anya was going to have Goodbye Declaration, but then I changed it to seem less obvious. Make of that what you will. 

Mirage is an interesting case. I went with Echo because it was the most fitting, and I hate to say this, but Kyu-Kurarin by Iyowa was also an option. I chose Echo to make it more family-friendly.

Akito was originally going to sing Kamippoina by Pinnochio-P, but I decided "Screw it, Ghost Rule."

I had a plethora of songs for Noelle. First, I wanted her to sing From Zero by Neko Hacker, then I was thinking Cute na Kanojo by syudou, then Aishite Aishite Aishite by Kikuo, then Daisuki Dayo by Neko Hacker, then I decided "You know what? Forget the yandere Noelle" and went with Kawaikute Gomen. I haven't given up on the idea, though, and yandere Noelle may or may not make an appearance in a future episode...

Lastly, Rosetta's cover was originally going to be Tondemo Wonderz. After coming up with the idea for Star⭐Wonder, I changed it to Love Trial and made Tondemo Wonderz the group cover.

Finally, besides Rosetta, there are two more characters I'm adding to RPD's story! Meet Ruby's older siblings!

Sapphire Kiseki - Cat (Age: 19)

Chromo Kiseki - Cat (Age: 21)

Fun fact: The entire Kiseki family is based on a single fact that I learned from MLP. They're all based on gemstones except for Chromo, who is based on the element Chromium. Sapphires are just Rubies without Chromium.

There are a few more characters who didn't get their own music groups. Here's why:

The Anansi siblings, Osiris and Orvo, are both tone-deaf.

Kuro is a good singer, but he refuses to sing to others due to embarrassment.

Sapphire has a pretty singing voice, but she can't stay on key too well.

Chromo just can't sing. He would much rather be playing Dragon Forest (this world's equivalent of D&D).
